Two Haunting "Dream" Covers

Two of my favorite Youtube artists covered the same song for the most recent Disney movie, Maleficent. Some of you might have heard Lana Del Rey's version of the classic "Once Upon a Dream," which even though I'm not a huge fan of Del Rey, I do enjoy her twist on the song. (If you haven't heard her version, listen to it here.)

Sidonie Smith and Traci Hines both created their own covers for this song, in two very different ways. Sidonie used her talent on the viola while Traci focused more on her voice. However, both versions are beautiful and definitely worth watching.

Sidonie Smith:

This is definitely one of my favorite videos from Sidonie. I love how she made it different with the viola, and I'm always blown away by her makeup and costumes in her videos.

Traci Hines:

I love how Traci added a little of her as Aurora, showing both the dark and light side of this song. Traci is just so ridiculously talented I can never get over it.

What do you think of these covers? How do you like the new versions of "Once Upon a Dream"?

Make sure to check out Sidonie and Traci's Youtube channels for more amazing covers and music!

The Ever Talented Sidonie Smith

It's been a while since I've written non-DCP related posts, so I thought I'd share with you guys some videos from one of my favorite Disney Youtube singers!

If you've been following my blog for a long time, you might remember me sharing a "Zero to Hero" video on a Tune Tuesday last year. Sidonie Smith is an extremely talented singer and musician who performs in a Legally Blonde production located in Vienna, Austria. She has a series on Youtube dedicated to Disney songs and music, and she does all of her own makeup in each of her videos.

Besides "Zero to Hero", she has uploaded two more music videos that I absolutely adore. I was extremely impressed with her "Hipster Disney Villains Medley." I found it unique and completely original! Also, she recently created a cover of "Almost There" from one of my favorite Disney movies, The Princess and the Frog. It's such a fun video, and I love all of her costumes!

Hipster Disney Villains Medley:

Almost There:

Make sure you check Sidonie out on all of her sites!
Also, keep an eye out for a future project with Traci Hines, another one of my favorite Disney Youtube singers. I've been following her Instagram and there have been hints about the collaboration video. I'm so excited!

Reflection Around the World

A few weeks ago, I received a delightful surprise tweet from Sidonie Smith telling me to watch her newest video. After watching the beautifully made video, I discovered she gave The Disney Den a shout out!! I was SO excited, and it made me so happy, I just HAVE to share the video with you guys!

This latest addition to her One Woman Disney Series is the song "Reflection" from the Disney movie, Mulan (my favorite princess!). However, she's not just singing this song, but she's singing this song in three different languages, and playing the viola! Sidonie also did her own makeup, which is absolutely stunning in this video.

I hope you enjoy, and be sure to watch the end! ;)

Also, for those of you who want to hear (or haven't already heard) the original Reflection from the movie, here it is!

Disney Tune Tuesday 16: Zero to Hero

Just like the Disney confession above, I absolutely adore the music in Hercules. I actually think the music in the movie doesn't get the attention it deserves. I've shared with you songs sung by Megara and Hercules, but now it's time to share one of the fun songs by the goddesses of music themselves, the Muses!

The other day I received a message on Facebook from an extremely talented singer about her one woman medley of this very song! Her name is Sidonie Smith, and her video is definitely worth watching!

You can check out the rest of Sidonie's Youtube videos here.
