Disneyland Fall Bucket List

With the end of the year quickly approaching, my two-year anniversary with Disneyland come and gone (already!), and the recent announcements of many Disneyland attractions and locations closing either permanently or temporarily for the construction of Star Wars Land...I decided I need to finally make a bucket list for the parks of things I need to do before the end of the year.

Without further ado, here are a list of attractions, restaurants, and activities I need to do before 2016!

Source
1. Big Thunder BBQ - I've eaten here once before, and I LOVED it! I already have a plan in the works to eat here at least one more time before it goes away permanently in January. (Completed: 11/17/2015)

Source
2. Watch Fantasmic! - I actually haven't seen this show at all this year. I definitely need to see it before it's gone for over a year!

Source
3. Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes - This may seem kind of odd...but I've never been on the canoes that paddle around the Rivers of America. I wanted to give it a try this most recent summer but it was way too hot for that kind of physical activity.

Source
4. Ghost Galaxy - I love this particularly spooky version of Space Mountain during Halloween. I've actually had the opportunity to ride it with the lights on, but I haven't seen the regular version yet this year! (Completed: Oct. 14th)

Source
5. Mickey's Halloween Party - Even though I've worked in Disneyland for over two years now, I've never actually been to a Mickey's Halloween Party. Thankfully, I have a ticket for next week! I'm so excited! (Completed: Oct. 14th)

Source
6. Haunted Mansion Holiday - It's mandatory to see the new gingerbread house and changes Jack Skellington made to the Haunted Mansion every year! (Completed: Oct. 14th)

Source
7. Doctor Who Day - I've participated in the last two "Gallidays" in Disneyland, and they're so much fun! Definitely made it into a tradition and plan on attending this November. If you're a Doctor Who fan, this is definitely a day in the parks you don't want to miss. (Completed Nov 8th)

Source
8. Hyperspace Mountain - A new version of Space Mountain themed for Star Wars? Can't wait! (Completed 11/14/15)

Source
9. Star Wars Launch Bay - Even though I'm not a huge Star Wars nerd, I'm really excited to see what they did with Innoventions for the new Launch Bay coming in November!

I'll keep updating this list as I accomplish each goal, and keep you posted on Twitter and Facebook!

Do you have any items on your Disney bucket list?

Have a magical day!

My Bucket List: Meet MANY Characters

The second item on my DCP Bucket List that I was able to complete was to meet as many characters as possible!

I might have previously mentioned this, but going character hunting is one of the best activities you can do on your days off in the parks when you've had your fill of rides. Besides the princesses, I had some specific fur characters I was dying to meet. Some of those characters were The Incredibles, Rafiki, Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear. (I really wanted to meet Meg [from Hercules] but she was never out and about when I was there. I got to see her in Fantasmic though!) Luckily, I was able to meet pretty much everyone else! Here are some of my favorite memories from meeting characters during my program:

The Incredibles

The first characters I ever met during my program were The Incredibles. You have no idea how happy this made me! The Incredibles is one of my all time favorite movies, and I had never met them before. There was nearly no line for Mr. Incredible and Frozone, so Sara and I walked right up to meet them! While Mr. Incredible signed my autograph book, Frozone asked Sara to flex her muscles for him. He was terrified! It was hilarious! After the autographs we posed in our best fighting stance and became honorary supers!

Gaston

I have to tell you, I wish I was able to see Gaston more than once. Unfortunately he was never out at night (when I usually went to the parks) and his line was usually pretty long whenever I was able to see him during the day, but the one time I went to meet him with Jake was absolutely hilarious.

Jake met Gaston first, and he actually had a shirt with Gaston's face on it. The first thing he said was, "I like your shirt. The only thing better than my face, is two of them!" Then he asked Jake about his workout routine and his diet (which was midnight snacks consisting of Oreos) and Gaston told him to flex his arms. As soon as he did, Gaston took a look and said, "Eh, it's a good start." I was dying it was so funny.

When it was my turn to meet him, Gaston first asked if Jake was my boyfriend. I laughed and said no, we're just friends. Gaston replied, "Don't worry, Belle put me in the friendzone too. But I assure you, I will make her my wife." I just kept laughing, while Gaston asked if I wanted to feel his arm muscles. Once I posed (like above), he said, "That's what it feels like to be impressed." It was hands down one of my favorite moments during my entire program.

The Tremaines

I was able to participate in Dapper Day before I had to head to work, and I had the pleasure of meeting Cinderella's stepsisters and stepmother, the Tremaines! They were hilarious. First, they asked why everyone was dressed up so nice that day, and we explained that it was Dapper Day and everyone who participates is dressed up in their Sunday best to pay tribute to the opening of Disneyland. They were in love with Lizzie's dress. Anastasia twirled her around a few times, and Lady Tremaine asked who her seamstress was. I told them Charlotte Ruse (get it?), and they said that they had never heard of her before. Then Lady Tremaine continued to bad mouth "Charlotte" and said, "You see, I can talk bad about her because I don't know her." Later that day we decided to watch Celebrate A Dream Come True Parade right before I left for work, and when the Tremaines danced by us, Anastasia saw us and shouted, "Hey! Look it's our friends!!" She kept pointing trying to get her sister's attention, but to no avail. It was still neat that she remembered us!

Madam Daisy Fortuna (Daisy Duck)

The day all of my friends decided to Disneybound in the parks and go character hunting, I discovered that one of my best friends Christine was going to be hanging out with Daisy at Pete's Silly Sideshow that day. After meeting the princesses in Town Square Theater, we realized we could FINALLY visit Christine at work! I hadn't been able to throughout my entire program, so I was really excited to finally see her in action!

We quickly hopped on the train to go to Storybook Circus. We were pretty pressed on time because it was nearing the end of Christine's last set before the rest of us had to leave and get ready for Goofy Con later that night. We were pretty worried because the line was a lot longer than we were used to (usually Sideshow is pretty empty later in the day). So we waited in line, and then literally right as we were going to meet Daisy, the character attendant told us that she was going to have to come back after a short break. This meant that Christine's set was ending JUST as we were about to meet Daisy. I tried to tell the character attendant that it was important to meet Daisy now, as opposed to five minutes from now. Thankfully, my friend Syndey is Photopass and knew the person working at that moment, and he let me quickly meet Daisy. She was SO excited to see me! It was too bad we were being rushed, but I was really happy to actually meet Christine's best friend!

Buzz Lightyear

Buzz was the last character on my bucket list that I needed to meet. If I'm not mistaken, I think he was the last character I met at the end of my program! Toy Story was one of my all time favorites when I was little, so meeting him (and the other toys) really meant a lot to me.

When we walked up to meet Buzz, he immediately noticed Lizzie's shirt (characters love her clothes). He pointed to Ariel and then pointed to Lizzie. We assumed he was asking if she was a mermaid. She said yes, but she was just using her human legs right now. Then Buzz put his legs together like a fin and started making motions as if he was trying to swim. We concluded that unfortunately, Buzz was not a mermaid, but an action figure. ;)

These five character moments were some of the most memorable ones that I had during my program. I also loved meeting Rafiki, Woody and Jessie, as well as the boss himself, Mickey! Character hunting is for sure now one of my favorite things to do in the parks. I definitely recommend it for everyone doing the program!

My Bucket List: Meet All Disney Princesses

Way back in October before I even started the DCP, I posted an entire bucket list that I wanted to do during my program. Throughout the five months that I was in Florida, I actually managed to do the majority of the activities I had listed! I deleted and added some at some points in time, but otherwise it was very similar to the original.

I'm going to make a post for each of the bucket list items I completed, starting with the first: Meeting all the Disney princesses!

Snow White

I actually met Snow three times during my program. The first time was during my birthday, where I also got to meet Snow Prince and Dopey! The second time I filmed a short little clip wishing my mom a happy birthday, and the third time I was dressed in my Halloween Disneybound outfit! My favorite time that I met her was definitely on my birthday, because we talked about more things and Dopey just made the entire experience fun. Snow is seriously adorable though, and she's definitely one of my favorite Disney princesses!

Cinderella

Since Cinderella is in Town Square Theater for meet and greets, I got to see her quite a few times. Personally, I find her kind of boring...except for one time before Easter when I met her she asked if my friends and I wanted to go to the ball so we could meet all the available princes. She'd have her fairy godmother make dresses for us and everything! I do love her new dress though. It's seriously gorgeous.

Aurora

Aurora honestly surprised me each time I met her. I was expecting it to be a little boring like when I'd meet Cindy, but each time I met her we had nice conversations that weren't awkward at all. She was actually one of my favorites to meet on my birthday. She also let me take a greeting video of her saying hi to my best friend from back home since she's her favorite princess. The last time I met her, she was wearing her new dress. I ADORE it!! It's SO much better than the old clunky one she had (like in the picture above.) I also got to meet Phillip during my birthday the first time I met Aurora. He didn't say much, but it was pretty neat.

Ariel

Ariel was actually the very first princess that I met! I met her twice. The first time was a little awkward because I hadn't met a face character since I was really really little..and even back then I was scared of them. Ariel told me she liked the bow in my hair, and I asked where she got her flower in her hair. She just told me she picked it somewhere in the ocean...exciting story, I know. The second time Ariel asked where we were all from and if we were sisters. We told her we were roommates and from all over the country. That's really it! Nothing too exciting with her, unfortunately.

Belle

I got to meet Belle twice! The first time was actually during her new attraction: Enchanted Tales with Belle. My friends kind of forced me to be in the show, so I was a dancing pepper shaker. When I went to take a picture with her we didn't get to really talk except for her thanking me to be in her show. The second time we met her I filmed the second half of my birthday message to my mom. She was so sweet! She also talked to my best friend Lizzie about Lizzie's favorite ride, The Haunted Mansion. They talked about how she always got scared when the heads popped up behind the gravestones, and Beast had to protect her because he's extremely brave. She was adorable!

Jasmine

The first time I met Jasmine, I was honestly disappointed. She was kind of rude to Lizzie when she asked if she could take a picture on her phone with just the two of them (a selfie, to be exact). Jasmine kept telling her to have me take the picture...which kind of ruins the point of a selfie. At one point Aladdin was even like, "Jasmine is confused." We ended up just taking a group photo. The second time we met Jasmine was MUCH better. We were all in our Disneybound outfits and she had each of us pose like our princesses. It was really fun!

Pocahontas

Pocahontas was so cool! She took my friend Jake by the arm when she was walking him from the line to her meeting spot, and told him he had a strong name. When I met her she asked if I had any adventures in mind, and if she would like to join her and Meeko when they go jump off waterfalls together. She also asked if Sara had raccoon treats in her backpack! She was just a lot of fun and definitely one of my favorites!

Mulan

Mulan was so cute! When I met her I was wearing my purse that goes across my body, making it kind of look like a satchel. She asked me if I was using the bag to prepare for battle, and honestly I kinda froze and answered, "Maybe?" I was awkward...but she thankfully played along and didn't say anything about my mediocre answer. One thing I recommend for you guys if you ever meet characters: don't be afraid to play along and pretend with them! It makes it so much more fun! I learned that later on during my program.

Tiana

I adore Tiana! She was one of my favorites to meet on my birthday, mainly because Naveen was there! I talked about the experience I had when I met Naveen for the first time, and how he recognized me from buying Dole Whip from me at the Polynesian. I met them a second time and he remembered me again! Turns out, his "friend" was doing the college program. Who would've thought? Tiana is such a sweetheart though. She asked me about what kind of seafood recipes she should know about that I serve at work...but it was awkward because we don't really serve seafood excpet for mahi mahi...(which I couldn't remember at the time). But she still played along and made everything really fun.

Rapunzel

Rapunzel is so adorable! First time I met her was again on my birthday...but Flynn Rider was there!! I was honestly more excited to meet him, but when I went up to meet the two of them Rapunzel was the one that talked the most. Mainly because it was my birthday and birthdays are her favorite. I think I met her around three times...can't quite remember. She was fun each time we met though, and got really excited when one of my friends was her for our Disneybound day!

Merida

It took us FOREVER to finally meet Merida! Her line is always so long! However, after we watched her coronation one morning, we decided it was a necessity to make a trip to Magic Kingdom with the sole purpose of meeting Merida. She was hilarious! I asked her what it was like to be an official Disney princess, and she said, "Spectacular! It's exactly how it was before, except now you can call me an official Disney princess." She also asked if Sara could teach her how to curtsy, which was really funny! I have it all on video and I plan on including it in a Magic Kingdom vlog sometime in the near future.

After meeting Merida, I had officially met every single Disney princess! Character hunting is seriously one of the most fun experiences you can do in the Disney parks, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who doesn't feel like going on rides all the time! Every character meet and greet is different, even if you've already met a character before!

Disney Bucket List Vlog!

Since we finally finished school (which means we're done with community college forever!!), my friend Sara and I found time to make a new video blog!

Another DCP video blog pair, "Mitch and Trey's Disney Days," made a Disney bucket list vlog a few weeks ago and asked everyone else who does vlogs for the DCP to join them and make a response with their own Disney bucket lists! So, that's exactly what we did!

These are just some of the many things we want to do in Florida during the DCP, and if you have any ideas, feel free to share your input! We want to make most of the months we'll be sharing this journey together in the most magical place on Earth!

For the rest of our Disney video blogs, check out our Youtube channel!

I hope everyone has a magical weekend!

My Disney Bucket List

Before I was even accepted into the Disney College Program, I decided I needed to make a bucket list of things I wanted to do during my DCP adventure. I've seen quite a few bucket lists online on Tumblr and in random video blogs, so those gave me a few new ideas I had never really thought of before.

Today during my physical geography class, I got so bored I noticed that in the back of my assignment book there were these little "To Do" lists. I thought, hmm...this can be perfect to start brainstorming my bucket list! So to pass the time, I started to write down the first activities that came to mind that I have wanted to do for an extremely long time.

I'll share with you what I have written so far, and I'll continue to add more when new goals come to mind!
  1. Meet all the Disney princesses. (Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Jasmine, Ariel, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida)
  2. Meet as many characters as possible, but especially: Flynn Ryder, Rafiki and The Incredibles. (Also Megara if she somehow makes her way to the parks.)
  3. Conquer the "Kitchen Sink."
  4. Take Haunted Mansion backstage tour.
  5. Learn how to surf in Typhoon Lagoon.
  6. Visit both water parks. (Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach)
  7. Eat at every country in EPCOT. (Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Japan, Italy, America, Morocco, France, United Kingdom, Canada)
  8. See all the shows offered in the parks, especially Wishes, Fantasmic, Indiana Jones Stunt Show and The Lion King.
  9. Buy a pair of Mickey/Minnie ears.
  10. Play "Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom"
  11. Show my best friend Holly EVERYTHING if she visits.
  12. Spend as much time with my family when they visit.
  13. Be there during the opening and kiss goodnight in the Magic Kingdom
  14. Visit Wizarding World of Harry Potter
  15. Visit DisneyQuest.
  16. Hang out at Mickey's Retreat.
  17. Eat at Ohana.
  18. Have dinner at Be Our Guest.
Obviously, this list is going to grow as time goes by and ideas come to mind. But these are the first ones that I've always wanted to do!

Do you have a Disney bucket list? Maybe some recommendations for my time in the program?
